I am a professionally registered nurse with over 34 years healthcare experience, 32 of these within the NHS.

I am a qualified adult teacher, certified coach, and human factor trainer, committed to quality of care and service for our patients and want to support and coach others to develop the leadership qualities necessary to do this.

My clinical background is predominately within Intensive Care Nursing. I qualified as an RGN at the University Hospital Birmingham and then went on to complete the Intensive Care Nursing qualification.

I held the position of Consultant Nurse for 10 years before moving into Divisional Director of Nursing posts within two different NHS Trusts, followed by promotion into Deputy Chief Nurse positions. I have enjoyed working in some of the bigger University Trusts in the country and also smaller general hospitals. I then worked for NHS Improvement supporting NHS hospitals to improve clinical quality,

patient experience and outcome. I am competent and highly experienced in Patient safety and quality improvement methodologies. My academic background includes a Master’s degree in Health Law and Ethics, I have a post-graduate diploma in medical education and have studied at Doctoral level, having an Advanced post-graduate Diploma in Education. I have completed several leadership programmes, including those delivered by the NHS and the Institute for Leadership and Management, where I also completed my coaching qualification.
